About Us
On October 29th, Hurricane Sandy struck the northeast and The Manresa Columbian Club, located on the corner of Cedar Grove Ave and Ebbits Street, suffered a tremendous amount of damage. The interior is gutted, the electrical system needs to be replaced and all interior furnishings (tables, chairs, dishes, glassware, and silverware) were lost. Our insurance does not cover this damage and our organization does not qualify for any State or Federal aid.
We are humbly asking for your support in our time of need. Help us rebuild so we can help others. Any donation, whether it is small or large, will be greatly appreciated.

Who We Are
The primary purpose of the Manresa Columbian Club is to provide a home for the meetings and activities of the Manresa Council #2147 Knights of Columbus and Columbiettes who have been actively serving the New Dorp community for over 90 years.
We run many fundraising and community activities out of our club, such that over the last two years Manresa Council Knight’s and Columbiettes have been responsible for raising over $100,000 supporting various charities including Special Olympics, the Seton Foundation, Staten Island Catholic education, Project Hospitality, and Project Homefront to name a few. To generate the funds to maintain the building our hall is made available for parties at affordable rates.
Our Club
We have been serving the New Dorp Beach community for over 90 years.
Besides offering an affordable rental location for private parties to commemorate the milestones in our lives such as weddings, birthdays and graduations, our building is also made available to various community organizations including Boy Scouts, church groups, Veterans groups, AARP and community information meetings.
Our Members
Our members are the Knights of Manresa council #2147. Many of whom have suffered damage to their own homes and property in the storm, yet have still reached out to help others in need even during their own darkest moments. We are about people helping people and making a difference for the better.
Manresa Council has a long tradition spanning almost 100 years of charitable work throughout the local and national community. Manresa’s roots go deep in the New Dorp area, and our works of charity for the community are needed now, more than ever.
